TSG recently finished a large restoration project St Albans Church, Highgate, Western Australia. This historic parish had the first Foundation stone laid in 1889 and was designed by the famous Architect and war soldier Talbot Hobbs.

These original stained glass windows where in dire need of attention and we were commissioned to undertake this historic restoration by Heritage Perth. The three windows had to be carefully removed from the stone work section by section and then carefully removed from site and transported to our studio for a complete restoration service.

17 Church Stained Glass

This included new matching glass colours and textures and also many repainted and kiln fired glass segments. Once all glass pieces were replaced and repainted etc we then fully re leaded and reinforced the windows and then re cemented or re puttied the windows to strengthen and weather proof them.

Once the windows were hardened and had cured in our studio we then polished and cleaned them thoroughly and re attached all the new copper wires for new strengthening rods to be mounted into the stone work on installation. All windows where reinstalled and re rendered back in to stone work and the completed project was a total success along with being on budget and ahead on time.
